Oops yes this happened and as a result I had a crying woman in the backseat of my Uber to prove it….
Now for a bit more detail…I was driving along St Paul’s Terrace late one Friday night when I got a Ping request for a ride from the area around the Gasworks between the Valley and Newstead.
Who Farted
Yes that’s right – how rude of some people to fart, fluff, break wind or simply drop their guts in my Uber? Well you would be surprised how often it actually happens!!

Jeans in a Uber
As the title says I got a Ping request for a trip whilst driving around the inner Brisbane recently. When I arrived at the address a young lady emerged and asked if we could go to a particular address (her home apparently) so she could pick up another pair of her jeans!!
No problem, I said as we started off. I asked her to put the actual address in the App so we could find the house. For some reason this seemed to be more of a problem than I thought however there was a strong smell of alcohol on her breath so I just put it down to that! [Read more…]
Pokemon Go
Yes you have read it right – I have had a few ride requests in the last couple of weeks since the game was released, where the riders are either playing Pokemon as we drive along or want a ride to a specific location as it was simply too far to walk according to their Pokemon game!!
Yes this scenario is true as I was driving around the Brisbane CBD on Friday night and I got a Ping request for a ride, so I accepted it and I headed off to the Corner of Edward and Elizabeth Streets. [Read more…]
Drug Caps
Having just dropped off a middle aged couple in the Hamilton/Ascot area, I got a Ping request for another ride within the same suburb.
I made my way there driving past some very nice homes and estates in what is locally known as an affluent area. I finally found the home as it was a recent build on a small block between two larger Queensland style homes. The rest of the homes in the street were a similar mix and very impressive.
Doing the right thing
This is one question that is often raised when I pick up riders, I suppose it stems from all the negative reports we read in the media or from other interest groups spreading untruths, however its one point that I am happy to clarify whenever the question arises.
Understandably it appears the issue of Trust and Safety are the two main points raised by users of the Uber platform followed by the cost and the service. I hope the following examples highlights the way Uber expects all of their Driver Partners to operate and the way I personally believe all members in the service industry should strive to achieve. Following your Partner in a Uber
This was an interesting one – I was heading back into the Valley late one Friday night when I got a ping request for a ride in the Newmarket area. I headed over to the address and found the property – it had a two street frontage.
I waited out front for a couple of minutes and then a middle aged women appeared and got into the front seat. We exchange pleasantries and I started the trip. Oddly enough there was no destination details entered so I asked her where we were off to?
Street Walker

Uber Ride Sharing
In a show of backward mindsets and showing Queensland to be the backward state that it is, the state parliament recently passed legislation increasing fines and fees for Uber Driver Partners operating in Qld all the while giving the Transport Dept inspectors the extra power to charge a driver based on a hunch, not even needing proof to do so.
